Wire wrapped sterling silver pieces need balanced care - silver requires tarnish prevention, while porous or softer semi-precious stones demand gentle handling to protect delicate metal coils.

• The "Last On, First Off" Rule: Apply lotions, perfumes, and hairsprays before wearing your jewelry. Cosmetics cause silver tarnish and permanently stain porous stones like turquoise, malachite, and lapis lazuli.

• Keep Away from Water: Remove pieces before showering, swimming, or washing hands. Saltwater and chlorine erode silver, while trapped water oxidizes wire crevices you can't easily reach.

• Protect the Fine Wires: Take off jewelry before exercising, sleeping, or doing heavy tasks. Wire wrapping relies on tension, so snagging fine coils on clothing can bend the frame and loosen the stone.

• Wash Safely: Clean using lukewarm water mixed with a drop of mild dish soap. Use an ultra-soft toothbrush to gently brush dirt out of wire crevices, then pat fully dry with a soft microfiber cloth.

• Polish with a Cloth Only: Restore shine using a silver polishing cloth. Never use chemical liquid dips or ultrasonic cleaners—they strip intentionally darkened detailing and shatter delicate or included gemstones.

• Store Sealed and Dark: Store each item individually in an airtight, anti-tarnish bag. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat, which cause gemstones like amethyst, rose quartz, and fluorite to fade over time.
